My Testimony
I was born into a Spiritual family. My dad is a pastor, and my grandpa is a pastor too. Growing up I went through a lot of tough things. My dad pastored at the same small congregation my entire life, and so I became well acquainted with challenge. Because the church was small I was taking on leadership positions at a super young age. I lead worship when I was only 11 years old, and when our youth leader left I took over for a whole year when I was only 13 years old. I’ve taught children’s Church since I was 11, and I’ve played the piano and also done the sound booth. That wasn’t the hard part though. In each of those positions I met with a lot of complaints from a few people (one being a family member) and it ended in me having to leave my position. It was hard to process all of that at such a young age, but God kept working through me.
In middle school I went through a pretty severe 2 year depression. I’m a very loving people person, and when no one wanted to talk to me or be around me because I wasn’t “popular” it was devastating to me. When I got to high school I broke out of my depression and I made some awesome friends that I treasure to this day. My sophomore year I completely dedicated my existence to God. I’d been a Christian since I was like… a 1st grader, but I wasn’t completely sold out and in desperate love with Jesus till then. During that time I participated in a lot of music and arts involved things, and thus my love of theatre was born.
Upon graduation I had a ton of confusion with what to do with schooling, and I still go through a bit of it, but after a break up God really reinforced my love of theatre. I know who I am now, and I realize that He could have had ministering to the theatre world in mind when He created me.
Long story short… All of me… All my days… All for Jesus Christ
